The Great Wall of China!

Never thought I'd ever actually be standing on the Great Wall of China. It was truly amazing! We went twice - this was Simatai, a little off the beaten tourist track. It was very spectacular seeing the wall on those high peaks. We took a tram part way up the mountain, then hiked up the rest of the way. It was pretty strenuous, but due to our superior physical condition :) Kirk and I made it! Kirk got a lot of attention from a couple of Chinese ladies who kept fanning him all the way up (little did he know they expected him to buy their wares once he got to the wall). It was so fun to experience it with Mike's family. Trent and I hiked as far as we could go - until the signs and the guard said we weren't allowed to go any further. Mike and Bri took such great care of us and made everything so nice while we were there. I'm sure they needed a vacation to rest up from the vacation. Thanks Mike and Bri for everything! It was an amazing trip of a lifetime!

Grandpa Came out of the Man Cave

Grandpa always loves it when the Grandkids come - but he's been known to retreat to his "cave" after a while. In fact, when the kids can't find him they say, "did Grandpa go back to his cave?" When Shellie and George dropped Abby and Caynen off for the weekend while they travelled to Salt Lake to help with a fund raiser for Shellie's friend, Grandpa Kirk was forced to come out of the cave and stay out all weekend long. He did a great job helping with the kids ... and he loved it, I think maybe as much as they loved being with him.

A Place on the Steps for Zach

We left a spot in the top photo for Zach—we'll photoshop his picture in. We still have never had all three babies together at the same time. One of these days! We sure loved having Kenny and Christan and their family here from Virginia. They hadn't been home for a whole year! Shellie and George & kids joined us - so did Brian and Scott, so we had a houseful, and LOVED it! Of course, we sure missed all of Mike and Bri's family and the three missing grandkids—Trent, Garret and Zach. Can't wait till the day we'll have all 8 grandkids together!
